Don Byron
The Grammy-nominated, Pulitzer Prize finalist and Guggenheim fellow Don Byron was one of the highlights of Something Else's 2019 line-up and we're very grateful to have him return to Hamilton this year.
NPR has aptly described the versatile multi-instrumentalist and composer as “one of the most inventive and compelling musicians of his generation” and his illustrious CV corroborates that quote with recordings for BlueNote, Nonesuch, Savoy and Cantaloupe as well as collaborations with everyone from Bang On Can to Vernon Reid of Living Colour.
Byron will offer a riveting solo performance and will also be heard in festival-curated bands Big Bottom (alongside Lori Freedman, Nicolas Caloia, Michael Moore, Michael Vatcher, Tom Richards and Marcus Rojas), Clarinet Summit (with Houle, Freedman and Moore), and more.
