There is nothing quite like the cross-Atlantic connections one hears in Luc Ex’ Ensemble. Hamid Drake, a master drummer from the vibrant Chicago scene, collaborates with two talented Amsterdam players and a German ex-pat. Using classic “jazz” elements such as strong melodies, and syncopated rhythms, Luc Ex’ Ensemble welcomes free solos, and mixes them up with pop and noise arrangements and passionate and energetic rhythms.
