This free and funky trio matches two leading Canadian improvisers with an iconic American jazz bassist. “Sonoluminescence” refers to a process through which light is produced by sound waves passing through liquid. Converting sound into light is an apt metaphor for the shared aims of the band’s members. One of the more adventurous, transcendent groups in jazz and improvised music today.
