Tim Posgate Jazz Banjo

This new quartet is the first group Tim Posgate has led since 2009 and his days of recording and touring with his Hornband featuring the late great tuba player Howard Johnson. Early jazz; when-the banjo-was-king is the inspiration but the sound of this new group includes bluegrass vibrations, popular music and the sound of jazz today. 

Their music is really about the four people who are playing and their interaction on stage.  Andrew Downing (bass), Aline Homzy (violin), Kelsley Grant (trombone) are veteran musicians and highly regarded across Canada and internationally. The experience of hearing this ensemble live will leave you smiling as the transfer of energy between the audience and the performers is palpable.
